Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, sorts, opens, date stamps, photocopies, and distributes mail and other materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sorts, opens, date stamps, and distributes mail
  • Operates photocopy machines and duplicates materials
  • Files invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders
  • Files correspondence, reports, and close of file memoranda
  • Orders and maintains inventory of stationery and printing supplies
  • Assists in monitoring the paper feeding, inking, and folding processes of press operation
  • Loads and unloads stock of paper before, during, and after production
  • Receives and ties finished materials from large presses and places them in boxes for shipment
  • Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:

Education
  • None required

Experience
  • Six months of relevant experience performing general clerical duties
  • Six months of relevant experience performing press-related duties and ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required for some assignments

Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements
  • Valid California Class C Driver License
