Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, maintains records and/or various materials, and provides clerical support at an operating department.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews, maintains, and updates personnel records; may administer workers′ compensation files
  • Completes payroll and processes payroll changes
  • Reviews daily payroll reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Calculates final payroll earnings for employees being terminated from service and requests special checks from Payroll department
  • Prepares letters, correspondence, memoranda, forms, and reports using a typewriter or a personal computer
  • Posts information from logs to employee files
  • Maintains and updates various lists, logs, and departmental records on a daily basis
  • Purchases and maintains supplies
  • Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers regarding procedures and personnel records
  • Answers telephones and acts as an office receptionist
  • Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
