Job Summary

Performs professional work to support management, Real Estate Officers, and Senior Real Estate Officers in the Real Estate Department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Researches and analyses property transactions
  • Settles delinquent accounts
  • Locates property boundaries
  • Conduct property inspections
  • Assists with the preparation of agreements, deeds, license and lease agreements
  • Monitors and assists with property records and status reports
  • Prepares periodic and special reports related to real estate activities
  • Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out


    May be required to perform other related job duties

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of (defined as a learned body of information that is required for and applied in the performance of job tasks)

 

  • Real estate services and/or property management process and procedures
  • Real estate transactions and documentation requirements
  • Basic accounting principles and financial information systems
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing real estate processes and procedures
  • Computer applications, particularly as related to the maintenance and analysis of property information and records
  • Property inspection practices and procedures


Skill in (defined as the proficient manual, verbal, or mental utilization of data, people, or things)

  • Computer software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Real estate specific software, such as LandVision GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping
  • Communicating effectively orally and in writing
  • Reading and interpreting legal documents
  • Analyzing financial data and basic mathematics


Ability to (defined as a present competence to perform an observable behavior or produce an observable result)

  • Understand and follow written and verbal directions
  • Analyze issues and recommend solutions
  • Analyze and compile data
  • Travel to offsite locations
  • Interact with diverse group of clients and customers
  • Prepare reports and correspondence

Minimum Qualifications

A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field


Experience

  • None required; one year of relevant experience in real estate services and/or property management preferred


Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements

 

  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
